1.1 Information You Provide

• Billing Information: Payment card details and billing postal code (processed securely through Stripe).
• Request Information: Data you provide when creating document requests, including recipient email addresses, phone numbers, and custom messages.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access our Service, we may automatically collect:

• Log Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and pages visited and referring websites (through Google Analytics).
• Device Information: The IP address, the browser and device type, and the pages visited (through Google Analytics).
• Usage Data: Information about how you use the Service, including API calls and feature usage.

When someone opens an upload link, uploads files, or opens an uploaded document, FileCourier records the date and time and the IP address of the device. These records are shown to the organization that requested the documents and to its authorized users. They do not contain document content and are not deleted when the document is deleted. FileCourier staff can also view these records to operate, support, and secure the service.

1.3 Files and Documents

FileCourier facilitates the transfer of files between our customers and their end users. Documents uploaded through FileCourier are kept only for the retention period set by the organization that requested them, up to the maximum FileCourier allows (currently 72 hours), and are then deleted automatically, whether or not they were downloaded. We do not access, review, or use the contents of uploaded files except as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Process transactions and send related information
• Send administrative notifications, such as security alerts and support messages
• Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
• Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the Service
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraudulent activity

3. How We Share Your Information

Documents uploaded through FileCourier are kept only for the retention period set by the organization that requested them, up to the maximum FileCourier allows (currently 72 hours), and are then deleted automatically, whether or not they were downloaded.

We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as resolving disputes and enforcing our agreements.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data is transmitted over HTTPS, and we use industry-standard security practices. Documents are encrypted in transit with HTTPS and encrypted at rest.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
